This Christmas I have been well and truly spoilt! I’ve received so many lovely beauty gifts that I want to share with you all and will be doing so over the next few weeks.
First up is something I’ve been after a while.
“Exploding on the scene like a comet, Edie Sedgwick was the quintessential sixties ‘It Girl’ and Andy (more…)
I love Real Techniques and my collection has grown and grown. I think I’m just two brushes off having the entire collection! So I thought I’d share with you guys my favourites of the bunch, the blush, powder and done shadow brushes.
I bought my first sleek product today after reading glowing reviews (see the pun there?)
It costs £9 from Superdrug which is such great value for money!
Such a beautiful palette that blends wonderfully and really contours the face beautifully. The only thing I don’t like about it is the slightly orange shade of blusher that comes with it, might have to play around with it to see if I can make it work for me.
This is a photo of my friend after I did her make up. I used the shimmer on the top of her cheek bones and down her nose and the contour powder under her cheekbones and a different blush on her cheeks.
I find the hardest thing about makeup is concealing blemishes, if you can get that right then you can create a perfect look but otherwise
blemishes can really ruin all your hard work and make you feel self conscious.
I’ve been watching a few tutorials on YouTube on how to cover blemishes and there is one product that is really standing out, Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation. Now you can guess from the name that this is a foundation but many artists are using
I thought I’d share some of my favourite skin care products that are purse friendly!
My current favourite highstreet products for keeping skin clear and reducing red marks from previous spots is the Body Shops Vitamin E range. All the products really feel like they are doing your skin a lot of good but are relatively cheap!
I’m currently using the whole range of these products and after only a week have I noticed a pretty drastic improvement in my skin, red marks from previous blemishes have begun to lighten, my complexion is clear and spot free and my face feels wonderfully moisturised. This is a great range for anybody that has sensitive skin, acne or any scaring. Vitamin E is proved to help replenish skin and is great for scars, blemishes and stretch marks.
I have been a huge Clarins fan for years! It all started when I bought Clarins Multi-Active Day Early Wrinkle Correction Comfort Cream, which is an anti aging cream aimed at women in their early 30’s.
This cream is gorgeous and smells amazing, I loved it but as I’m only 24 I thought it best to (reluctantly) try something more suited to my skin.
So I was walking through House of Fraser on Monday when this woman comes over to me and says “would you like to see a magic trick?”. Intrigued I said yes. So she grabbed my fiancées had and with a nail buffing block (and his horror!) she started buffing his nails.
I thought I’d show you guys some of my favorite buys from this last month, they’re also items that I’ve added to my make up bag that I use almost everyday!
Now for a not so positive review.
A few months ago I visited the Clinique counter in Fenwicks. I suffer with bad breakouts from time to time so the adviser told me I should try the Blemish Solutions range. So I went out on a whim and bought the whole range.
The cleanser, clarifying lotion, clearing moisturiser, spot treatment gel and foundation!
But after over a month of using the range I found that my skin didn’t improve and I actually broke out further!
I returned back to Clinique who were adamant that it would help with blemishes but after phoning their head office I was told that this range is probably not suitable for my skin and I should send the products back for a refund!
I’ve done a bit of digging online where I found that I have certainly not been the only person that’s experienced this, it seems that unless you have severe acne then this range is not for you.
Today I treated myself to this gorgeous lip gloss! It’s super smooth on the lips and has such an amazing shine to it! It’s quite expensive at £22 but I love buying products from Dior as it really feels like a luxury!
I would definitely recommend this! I bought the shade 686. Sorry for the poor image, I just whacked it on and took a photo but you can’t really see just how glittery and pretty this (more…)
