My March Favourites

I’ve been a busy bird this month and picked myself up some really great new treats. Although my bank balance is feeling the strain and the guilt is kicking in, I thought I’d share my favourites!

Jo Malone Cologne in French Lime Blossom// This is actually a very new favourite of mine but I know I’m going to love this little bottle until the end. I’ve wanted to try Jo Malone’s fragrances for some time now and am so glad I have. After lots of sprays of different scents, I picked French Lime Blossom in a 30ml bottle, as I didn’t want to spend a pricey £70 (more…)

A Trio Of Highlighters

Three stick highlighters, all good, from three different companies. Hows a girl to decide which one to buy? Well let me talk you through them, one by one.

Benefit Watts Up// This is a champagne coloured highlighter, its slighty darker than the others and a whole load more pricey. The product is densely pigmented and gives a really warm glow. The packaging is very cute, although the lid pops off in your bag far too easily and I can’t quite understand the little sponge at the end?! Priced at £24 it is the most expensive of the bunch but also the biggest, containing 9.4g. (more…)

My Topshop Makeup Picks!

Topshop makeup has really hit the scene with a bang. Whilst clothing stores usually fail at creating good quality makeup, Topshop succeeds.
The products are fun, on trend and affordable. My favourites of the collection have got to be: (more…)

Matte Masters// Prime, Powder & Set

Last year the beauty world went crazy for dewy skin, something that I could never recreate without looking greasy. So to hear that this years biggest beauty trend is matte makeup, made me very happy. Thanks to years of oily skin, this is something that I’ve got down, with a little help from some special products.
So here’s my favourite items that prep the skin, perfectly powder and set makeup for a shine free look all day.

The Run Down// My Morning Skincare!

My morning skincare routine has changed hugely in the last 6 months. I’m an oily skinned girl that dreaded the idea of apply moisturisers, as I truly believed they made my skin oilier give me makeup melt down much quicker.

And then I did my research, read some other beauty bloggers advice on skincare (yes I’m talking about the one and only Caroline Hirons!) and my skin has thanked me for it!

I start by washing my face with a non-foaming gel cleanser, like the Una Brenan Neroli Cleanser, this just removes my moisturiser from the night before, along with all that sweat and oil you produce at night. I really like this cleanser, its gentle, smells gorgeous and contains Hyaluronic Acid for an extra moisturising boost. And not to forget, its cheap!

Lip Balm Barmy

Lip balms, the must have arsenal of most beauty lovers. My handbag usually has at least 3 rolling around inside it and I never work without one on me. I wouldn’t call this a list of my favourites, but more of what I’m loving right now. There are others I’d like to try, but I think you’ll agree, I have too many already!

Carmex// Never am I without this little beauty. The only lip balm that will always fix my lips when they are playing up.

Face Of The Day #3

20140319-235638.jpgToday I fancied a statement look without looking too over the top.
When wearing a strong lip colour, you don’t want to appear like you have a lot of  make up on as this can look busy and dated. Keeping the skin sheer and glowing, brings a dark lip out of the evening and into the daytime.

As a base, I’ve kept things pretty natural using the Laura Mercier primer and my favourite Lancome foundation. I’ve paired Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie with MAC All That Glitters on my lids. And on my cheeks I’m wearing the darkest shade from the Sleek Blush By 3 palette and my Dior Contour and Glow. For a highlight I’m using my current favourite, which is the No.7 Instant Radiance Highlighter.
And to finish it off, I’ve lined my eyes with the Rimmel Scandaleyes Pencil in Bronze.

The Body Shop Cleansing Butter

Cleansing balms have quickly become a cult beauty must have. But with so many companies releasing one, how do you choose what’s right for you?

If you’re new to cleansing balms, they are solid cleansers that when warmed on the skin, turn into an oily consistency. Don’t be afraid, this is the 21st century, oil is good for all skin types! A balm cleanser will leave your skin feeling plump, clean and nourished. Trust me.

So you want to try a cleansing balm but you don’t want to spend a small fortune? Well I think I have the answer.

Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer

Soap and Glory have been the most surprising, cosmetics success of this past year. Their toiletries range has always been a favourite of mine but I was a little dubious when I saw that they had released a cosmetics range. Oh how silly I was!

Kick Ass Concealer is just one of my favourites of the Soap and Glory make up. This little pot of wonders has it all. Just follow steps 1, 2 &3!

Step 1//  With a creamy consistency and peachy tone, its a perfect under eye concealer.

Step 2//  A heavier, yet never cakey, concealer to hide any blemishes or redness.

Step 3//  A powder to set all that concealer, ensuring you’re flawless all day!

This thing really is kick ass. I have not stopped wearing this since I got it. It makes my skin look so naturally flawless, and the lightest shade is a perfect match for me.

Not to forget its a perfect dupe for the Laura Mercier Undercover Pots (costing a whopping £29!).

Priced at only £10, its available here.

What’s In My Handbag!

A girls handbag is a very personal place. Its our back up plan when all else fails. Its where we keep those essentials that come to the rescue when we’re really desperate (I’ll spare you the boring details of paracetamol and tampons). I like to keep things simple and I’m not one to lug around a huge bag filled with half of my make up collection and then some. So without further ado, here’s a peep into my handbag essentials!
