What a busy week its been! The last Foundation Friday feels like just yesterday but here we are again.
This weeks foundation Friday is all about the big beauty hit, BB creams! With every cosmetic company and their friends jumping on the bandwagon, the industry has been saturated with these creams. If you don’t know what a BB cream is then firstly where have you been? Secondly, let me tell you all about them. Beauty Balms are basically supped up versions of tinted moisturisers. Usually offering SPF and a heavier coverage, they have blended in well with the zero effort beauty trend of 2014. These days its all about a quick base without the fuss of a full coverage foundation! I was on that big brow bandwagon long before it was popular. When everyone else had pencil thin brows, I was that 12 year old with big bushy brows! I’ve made all your classic brow shaping disasters. Attempting to shave my brows into shape when I was 12, and subsequently having to pencil them back in as I went a little over the top with the razor was certainly a low point! Finally my mum expertly plucked them for me and I seriously haven’t looked back since. (more…)
Lip pens have taken the industry by storm in a huge way. Beauty lovers are embracing quick and easy makeup on the market whilst letting laborious products fall by the way side. I of course am one of these girls. I love makeup that comes at ease and lip pens are slowly becoming an addiction of mine. I mean c’mon, who doesn’t love lip friendly Crayola’s?
Foundation Friday is here again, and this weeks foundation is a little bit different.
MAC Studiofix Powder appealed to me after my great experience with the Fluid version. Designed to give a lightweight finish that keeps skin oil free all day, this powder is pretty special.
This foundation promises to control shine with ingredients like Silica, which helps to absorb oil throughout the day. Ingredients like Talc help to give this foundation a velvety, matte finish which looks very natural. Sounds ideal for me! (more…)
There have been many new products gracing my dressing table this month, but only four have really stood out enough to make it into my April Favourites!
Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Buttercream// I discovered this when my mum told me how much she loved the scrub from the same range. The minute I opened a tub and took a sniff I knew I was hooked. I picked up the Buttercream and have been using it daily since. Smelling so sweet and fresh of lime, almond, coco and kiwi this whipped body butter is the perfect summer time moisturiser. (more…)
Rimmel Match Perfection promises to leave traceless coverage in any light without any telltale makeup lines or makeup mask. From the bathroom to the pub, these products certainly do live up to there description. And here’s a run down of my favourites. (more…)
I’m pretty fortunate in the way that my lashes are dark and naturally quite long. I rarely bother to curl them and I’m not one to get excited over a mascara. But when I was walking through Boots a few days ago, something sparkly caught my eye.
Its that time again, Foundation Friday! 8 weeks of foundation reviews, every Friday.
This Friday’s review is of Make Up For Ever HD Foundation and I’m afraid to say I haven’t fallen in love with this one.
Hugely loved throughout the industry, this foundation promises to provide invisible coverage whilst lasting all day and creating flawless skin. I can’t say that I agree with any of those statements. (more…)
Today’s face of the day is inspired by my funky new glasses. After attending the Specsavers Fashion Showcase, I was lucky enough to receive some new glasses thanks to Specsavers. I picked up these Karen Millen frames in store and am so happy to finally have updated my look.
Border lining geek-chic, these cat eye frames are such a great accessory to any outfit and work really well with most makeup looks.Thicker framed glasses are almost certainly a favourite with most fashionistas, making these frames not just practical but a fashion statement too.
With leopard print details on the front and studs on the arms, these specs definitely appeal to my rebellious side!
The Naked 1& 2 are the industries best selling palettes and have completely changed the way some of us wear eyeshadow forever. Both were packed with beautiful bronzes, browns and silvers, ideal for the creating perfect nude looks. Naturally when Urban Decay announced the release of the Naked 3, the blogosphere went crazy!
I was lucky enough to get my hands on the eagerly awaited palette back in December and have spent a few months getting to grips with the colours and finding my favourite ways to wear them.
Unlike other nude palettes that have been recently launched, this palette contains 12 rose hued shades. From pale pinks to a deep black (with pink glitter particles of course!). This palette contains every finish a girl could want; smooth mattes, shimmering metallics and pretty pearls.
